The sixth of Messiaen's modes of limited transposition, F♯ Messiaen's Mode #6 is an eight-note symmetrical set repeating at the tritone, built from whole steps and semitones in a fixed pattern. Like the rest of the family, it was conceived as a source of harmonic colour. Composition material rather than a scale to solo with.
