E Mixolydian Pentatonic
E · G♯ · A · B · D
Sometimes called the Indian pentatonic, E Mixolydian Pentatonic takes the root, major third, fourth, fifth, and flat seventh — a five-note summary of Mixolydian. It fits dominant seventh chords perfectly and gives a cleaner, more deliberate sound than the blues scale. A good option for blues-rock players wanting to sound major without sounding sugary.
