D♯ Harmonic Minor
D♯ · E♯ · F♯ · G♯ · A♯ · B · C♯♯
Raising just the seventh of the natural minor gives D♯ Harmonic Minor a proper leading tone and, as a side effect, an augmented second between the flattened sixth and that seventh. That wide step is what produces its dramatic, faintly Eastern flavour, heard throughout classical music, neoclassical metal, klezmer, and flamenco. It also generates the phrygian dominant scale.
