B Six Tone Symmetric alternates semitones and minor thirds through the root, flat second, major third, fourth, raised fifth, and sixth, repeating its pattern every major third. Like all symmetrical scales, it can be shifted in fixed intervals without leaving the note set, which makes it a useful device for sequenced, mechanical-sounding lines.
