A Japanese scale that reads as a major scale with an added flat fifth, A Ichikosucho gives you a familiar bright seven-note framework plus one chromatic passing note. That blue-note-like addition makes it more approachable than most exotic scales. Works well over major harmony when you want a single unexpected inflection.
