A Flat Three Pentatonic
A · B · C · E · F♯
Also known as Kumoi, A Flat Three Pentatonic uses the root, second, minor third, fifth, and major sixth. The combination of a minor third with a major sixth gives it the Dorian flavour in five notes, with a slightly Japanese inflection. A refreshing alternative when standard minor pentatonic shapes are starting to sound automatic.
