D
D Major · 4 fingerings
The major triad is the first chord most guitarists learn and the backbone of nearly every style of popular music. D stacks a major third and a perfect fifth above D, producing the bright, settled sound that makes it the natural resting point of a progression. If a song is in the key of D, this is almost certainly its home chord.
